Every statement. Every gap. Every account they didn't mention.

Upload what the client has, or let them do it. Hearsay checks the timeline, finds the missing months, traces transfers to undisclosed accounts, extracts every transaction, and fills your forms.

How it works

A complete financial picture, ready for the hearing

Five steps. Each one produces something you can hand to opposing counsel, a forensic accountant, or the court.

01

Get every statement without chasing the client

Client or counsel uploads what exists. Hearsay can also guide the client through downloading the rest directly from their bank.

02

Know what's missing before the other side does

Statements are placed on a month grid per account. Missing periods and overlapping statements are flagged.

03

Surface the accounts nobody produced

Transfers, card payments, and P2P activity are matched across accounts. Unmatched ones point to accounts you haven't been given.

04

Every transaction, categorized and cited

Every transaction becomes structured data (date, payee, category, amount) with a confidence score and a source citation. Retailer orders add the line items behind each charge.

05

Court forms filled, not typed

Budgets, cash-flow summaries, and jurisdiction forms are projections of the data, not a separate typing task.

What it finds

What you walk into the hearing with

Five outcomes, each with the mechanism behind it, so you can explain to the court exactly how the answer was reached.

Timeline check

Never get surprised by a missing month again

Statement periods are messy: mid-month cycles, quarterly savings, combined statements. So Hearsay checks continuity instead of dates. The closing balance of one statement must equal the opening balance of the next; a date gap with matching balances is usually a quiet month, and a balance break with no date gap means a statement is missing or mis-filed. You are told which it is, per account, with the follow-up request already drafted.

  • Handles odd cycle dates, quarterly statements, and combined multi-account PDFs
  • Drafts the follow-up request for exactly the periods that are missing
  • Flags duplicates and re-uploads so the production set stays clean

Missing May 2024 statement. Closing $4,102.77 ≠ opening $2,915.03. Request drafted.
Transfer tracing

Surface the accounts they didn't produce

Every transfer is a pointer to another account. Transfers, card payments, loan autopays, Zelle and Venmo, brokerage sweeps, interest deposits: each one names a counterparty. Hearsay matches the ones that land inside the production set by amount, date window and direction. Everything unmatched is clustered by institution and masked account number and ranked into a list of accounts you haven't been given.

  • Amount, date window, and memo matching across all uploaded accounts
  • Candidate accounts ranked by dollars moved and frequency
  • One click to turn a candidate into a discovery request

Extraction & augmentation

Every number you cite survives cross-examination

Five-plus years of one bank means two or three format changes, plus scanned statements the client printed and photographed. Header fields that drive the gap logic are held to a near-perfect standard; transaction rows are extracted, normalized, categorized, and scored so you know what to trust.

  • Native PDF, scanned, and photographed statements
  • Payee normalization and category mapping to your form's line items
  • Export to CSV, Excel, or straight into your case file

Prove what the money was actually spent on

A statement says Amazon, $217.43. That doesn't answer "what did they spend on the kids." Hearsay connects to the client's Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Whole Foods order history, matches each card charge to its order by amount and date, and brings in every line item, so categories come from what was actually purchased, and the order total reconciles to the statement.

  • One charge can split across several expense lines: child care, household, clothing
  • Every item links back to the order and to the statement charge that paid for it
  • Unmatched orders surface too, paid from a card that isn't in the production set

Court forms filled in minutes, not paralegal hours

Categories map directly onto form line items, so an Income and Expense Declaration, a monthly budget, or a lost-wages summary is generated from the same extracted ledger, and every figure stays linked to the statements that produced it.

Stop chasing clients for statements

Three ways in. All three land in the same case, with the same hashing and the same gap report.

Counsel uploads

Drop the production you already have: a folder, a zip, or a mix of PDFs and images. Hearsay sorts them by account and period and tells you what's missing.

Bulk upload · dedupe · auto-sort

Client uploads

Send a portal link. The client sees exactly which months are still needed, uploads from their phone, and gets a plain-language checklist, with no account numbers to type.

Works at 320px · 3G-friendly · no login

Guided bank download

For the gaps, Hearsay walks the client through downloading statements from their own online banking, five-plus years back, not the 24 months aggregators stop at. Credentials never leave the client's browser.

Chain of custody

Answer “where did that number come from?” in one click

Each upload is hashed on receipt. Each extracted transaction records the file, page, and line it came from. When opposing counsel asks where a figure came from, the answer is one click, not an afternoon.

  • SHA-256 on receipt, logged with uploader, time, and source
  • Page and line citations on every transaction and every form field
  • Export a custody log alongside the production set
